Social History Two

Status:Active, full but can join waiting list
Coordinator:
When: On Mondays
4th Monday of the month at 10am
Venue: Members Homes

I am the coordinator for Social History Group 2 which is a very popular and successful group consistently running at our full capacity of 10 members, because of this we are not looking for new members at present but are always willing to add any interested names to a waiting list. Alternatively, I would be willing to coordinate or advise a new group if enough people were interested in setting one up, particularly if it was to be run along the same lines as the existing one.

Various talks given by our members, subjects to include, The History of the Labour Party, a Social History of Cutlery, a talk about Lady Astor, My Coastguard Grandfather and The History of Adoption. We also have planned an outing and guided tour of Hintlesham Hall arranged by one of our group members whose father used to own the Hall. Previous recent talks have included such subjects as The History of Make up, The History of the Workhouse and Singled Out - a history of single women post the 1914/1918 war.

Please contact Jessica if you want to be added to the waiting list.
